Luis Cobos (born October 20, 1948) is a Spanish composer, conductor, and music producer, renowned for blending classical, symphonic, and popular music. Born in Campo de Criptana, Spain, he developed an early passion for music and studied composition and conducting.
Cobos gained international fame in the 1980s with albums that fused orchestral arrangements with contemporary and Latin rhythms. His best-known works include Zarzuela (1986) and Mexicano (1987), both featuring grand symphonic interpretations of Spanish and Latin American music. His recordings, often performed with prestigious orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, became commercial successes worldwide.
