Rondo Veneziano is een renowned Italian chamber orchestra, founded in 1979 by composer and conductor Gian Piero Reverberi (born July 29, 1939). The ensemble is known for its unique fusion of classical baroque music with modern pop and rock elements, creating a distinctive and accessible sound.
Inspired by the music of composers such as Vivaldi and Albinoni, Rondo Veneziano blends traditional orchestration with contemporary rhythms and electronic instruments.
Their self-titled debut album, released in 1980, was a major success, particularly in Europe, and established their signature style. Dressed in 18th-century Venetian costumes, the orchestra gained international recognition, performing across Europe and beyond. Hits like La Serenissima and Odissea Veneziana became widely popular, further solidifying their appeal.
Throughout their career, Rondo Veneziano has released numerous albums and soundtracks, consistently evolving while maintaining their baroque-inspired sound. Their music remains a favorite among classical crossover audiences, celebrating Venice’s rich musical heritage with a modern twist.
